TLF 24-50

For Revell and Heljan I made the parts for the TLF 24/50 tanker fire engine, modelled on the Nottuln fire brigade's vehicle.

On the basis of the turntable ladder chassis, I made all the parts for the TLF 24-50 from scratch for the tooling; Revell received drawings from the Ziegler company. To be able to develop an accurate model, I also drove to the Nottuln fire brigade and photographed their TLF 24/50 there.

For the toy fair in Nuremberg I had built a prototype, the finished model on the left. After that came the production of the parts for the tooling at Heljan. The Danes then developed the TLF 24/50 as a CAD product using photos, drawings and the parts mentioned above.

I have no idea who the gentleman from the Nottuln fire brigade in this photo is. It was a long time ago, but he was the one who showed me the vehicle and whom I asked a few questions about it.

Months later, when the kit was ready, I went to Nottuln again and gave him some TLF 24/50 kits as a thank you for his kind support.
