Dump Trucks

Two conversions of the Kenworth W900 into dump trucks: Truckweld aluminium body and an Australian version with bull bar.

Once again the Kenworth tractor unit had to serve for a conversion. In brochures from the American body manufacturer Truckweld I had seen this high-gloss aluminium dump body and suggested it to my colleagues at Revell. At the next new-products meeting my proposal was accepted and I was able to develop the body. I already had the matching trailer in the back of my mind too; you can see it in the next picture. This dump truck was presented as a novelty in the 1994/95 catalogue.

Yes, it is the same model as above, a Kenworth W900 with the addition of a bull bar (cow catcher), meant to represent an Australian version. I was also allowed to develop a matching tandem trailer, which the Kenworth's dump body fitted as well. What nobody but me knew: I had designed the body's subframe so that it would also fit the chassis of the Peterbilt 359 tractor unit.
