Mercedes-Benz L6600

The Revell vintage truck that never was, the L6600 with long-distance cab: my finished drawings in 1:24 scale.

Yes, you are seeing right: Mercedes-Benz L6600. This truck oldie was meant to follow the Krupp Titan, but Revell wanted nothing more. The Titan supposedly sold so badly that the board got cold feet and stopped the series of old trucks. Minichamps then built this Mercedes in 1:18.

I then drew this L6600 with long-distance cab and sleeper roof (the "swallow's nest") completely; it is the vehicle of Helmut Hoffmann from Oberhausen. He made the truck available to me so that I could let my camera run and measure it completely. Had Revell made this '66, it would have been a hit, above all because it could have been marketed with different bodies. More pictures in the archive.

If you would like to build the L6600 with a completely normal local-transport cab, you can download this drawing. For an experienced model builder this should be no problem.
